• We teach all levels of the RYA shorebased syllabus (Basic Navigation and Safety, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore and Yachtmaster Ocean).
  • We run six and seven evening ‘Tutorial Programmes’ to supplement a correspondence course. We’ll teach you the harder parts of the syllabus whilst leaving you to study the easier parts of the course on your own.

‘One-off’ teaching

• Missed an evening or two at night school? Looking for teaching to ‘fill a gap’? Baffled by a subject?
• Don’t despair. We regularly teach individuals or small groups either here or at your location.

Teaching at your home or club

• This can always be arranged. The benefits are clear:
  • If we come to your address you make best use of your time. For many people the extra convenience makes the extra cost (our travel time and expenses) well worthwhile.
  • We can teach specifically to meet your needs and at the best pace and timescale for you.

VHF Short Range Certificate (SRC)

• We’ve been teaching this ever-popular course for over five years and always receive very high ratings from our students. One comment that keeps on surfacing is that somehow we manage to make the course ‘fun’ as well as an intensive learning day covering the wide syllabus.
• We teach on a scheduled basis. Most courses are run over one day. Our two evening courses have been very well received and we schedule them from time to time.
• You have choice with Andante. If our scheduled courses do not meet your needs why not check to see whether we can run a course to suit your (or a small group’s) schedule.

RYA Radar

• The number of yachts with radar is increasing. The need for an active means of protecting ourselves from large shipping has never been greater. Can you use radar effectively?
• This popular one-day course is the way to learn the basics and help increase your safety afloat.
• We normally teach it on a scheduled basis but can always arrange a course to suit your needs.

Practical teaching - contact us for schedules and more information

• ‘Own boat’ teaching is a speciality. It can vary from a one day session to a full RYA course including an ICC assessment. If you have a boat and want some teaching aboard her then look no further.
• We also provide scheduled RYA practical training courses in conjunction with Sailing Days using their Chichester based yacht.
