RYA Radar course

RYA Radar course - Full Course £ 85.00 per person

If you use a yacht fitted with radar and want to find how it works and how best to use it then the RYA Radar course is the one for you.

This a one day non-examined course which covers:

Basic understanding of radar
Set controls
Radar plotting and collision avoidance
Radar plotting and collision avoidance

Radar simulation software helps you learn how to operate a radar set, understand the picture, plot targets and generally understand the strengths and the limitations of the technology. Hands-on use of the simulator is the highlight of the course for most people.

The course fee includes:

Our comprehensive course notes.
A copy of the RYA radar course booklet.
Issue of completion certificate.
Light refreshments.

Notes

Radar courses are normally run at our Banstead, Surrey base.
Courses start promptly at 09:00 and normally end by about 17:00.
We ask you to bring your own lunch.
The course fee includes VAT.
Class size is limited to around eight people.

We often schedule extra courses, usually for small groups or even on a ‘one to one’ basis. The minimum price is as though there were three on the course and normal rates apply for the fourth and subsequent attendees. We can travel to you if you have adequate facilities.
